After Hot Toys announced the Captain Carter action figure from the animation “What If…?“, recently presents a second new figure, The Hydra Stomper. And it is divided into two versions, normal version and a special version that includes Steve Rogers. Let’s take a look!
Normal Version (The Hydra Stomper 1/6 Scale Figure)
In the first episode of Marvel’s animation “What if…?”, Steve Rogers‘ fate is changed. Instead of being Captain America, he will be fighting in “The Hydra Stomper” armor.
At the same time, this armor was created by Howard Stark.
This Hydra Stomper Figure uses a 1/6 scale, and its size is really huge.
Its overall height has reached 56cm, which is approx. 22.04 inches.
One thing to note is that due to the excessive size factor, Hot Toys designed this figure into its PPS (Power Pose Series) semi-action series this time. There are 8 points of articulation on the head, shoulders, waist, arms, and wrists, but Hot Toys has provided it with a pair of hands with fully-action fingers.
This Hydra Stomper Figure faithfully recreates its modeled appearance in What If…?, and the stout body covered with rivets is full of the style of the industrial age. With the military green paint, the simple five-pointed star pattern, and the number on the breastplate, it is obvious to know that it is a big killer made by the military.
The armor’s surface has also been treated with a weathered paint application, so that you can feel that this Hydra Stomper has been baptized by the warfare.
On the back of the Hydra Stomper, two huge thrusters are very eye-catching! But it’s a pity that Hot Toys didn’t provide the flame jet special effects. In addition, the shooters on the right arm are also depicted.
This product also has LED Light-up mechanisms. You can see the eyes and the chest’s arc reactor can both be Lighted-up.
The Normal Version only includes a specially designed figure stand.
With this stand, you can do a pose that the Hydra Stomper is flying.
The Hydra Stomper’s shoulder is equipped with a gun barrel pointing upwards. When it is flying, this special gun barrel for air combat is pointing forward and can be fired.
The previous Captain Carter Action Figure can also catch the back of the Hydra Stomper to recreate the classic scene of them fighting against the enemy together in the animation.
Special Version (The Hydra Stomper and Steve Rogers 1/6th Scale Figure Set)
The special version includes an extra Steve Rogers Action Figure.
At the same time, the corresponding interchangeable hands and a themed figure stand are also included.
This Steve Rogers Action Figure adopts a 1/6 scale, and it is 28cm tall, approx. 11.02 inches.
Compared with The Hydra Stomper Figure, his main body has 30 points of articulation, which can do a lot of poses.
This Steve Rogers Action Figure wears a green-colored flight suit, which also faithfully recreates the original appearance in What If…?.
Like the Captain Carter Action Figure, it is also an anime-style head sculpt, which is very authentic and detailed likeness.
Placed with the Hydra Stomper Figure, Steve Rogers is only half its height. It can be seen that the size of the Hydra Stomper Figure is really huge.
There is a row of climbing grippers on the Hydra Stomper’s body, and Steve can step on the mecha to pose as he is about to set off for battle.
The biggest highlight is that the cockpit of this Hydra Stomper can be opened. After Steve stepped on the mecha, then he can sit in, and reproduce the driving scene in the animation.
