“Dragon Ball” can be regarded as one of the classic comics that accompany our growth, bringing a lot of joy to our childhood.
The “Dragon Ball” series has always been produced many figures and model kits. This time, Prime 1 Studio and MegaHouse has made up for the lack of super large “Dragon Ball” statues, they recently present the Son Goku statue from Dragon Ball Z.
It is based on his iconic Super Saiyan appearance in a dynamic Kamehameha Pose which is really cool.
Let’s have a look!
This Son Goku statue is divided into a normal version (above) and a DX version. The normal version is designed as a “Super Saiyan 1” look, while the DX version comes with a total of fourth head sculpts- black hair, Super Saiyan 1, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3.
Let me introduce the normal version first.
The size of this statue is very huge, the height reaches 25 inches (63.6cm).
If let you suggest a classic manga “attack pose” from Son Goku, I think everyone will choose the super classic Kamehameha Pose! The action of collecting “Ki” is full of tension, with rich muscle details depicted, the dynamic performance is very good.
Goku‘s costume is also very classic, it is Gi, also called Keikogi, which is orange and blue. Goku wears this Gi in every major battle he fights in.
The most eye-catching feature of this statue is the blue special effect of Kamehameha. You can see the beam of light spreading out from the energy ball and the dazzling lightning effect.
It’s worth mentioning that the blue special effect of Kamehameha has built-in LED lights. It is really dazzing when it lights up.
The expression of this head sculpt still well follows the original setting of anime, and the expression is serious and full of momentum.
This statue also has a very amazing theme base, the special effect of energy overflowing and bursting also has built-in LED lights, which reflects the powerful aura of Super Saiyan Son Goku after lighting up.
By the way, the LED effect of this Son Goku statue is a rechargeable design, that means there is a built-in battery, which can emit light without relying on plug-in line when fully charged.
A transparent four-star Dragon Ball is inlaid in the center of the base, and the base is entangled by the Dragon’s body. The scales of the Dragon are not only meticulously depicted, but also gradient painted. And the four-star Dragon Ball is a relic of Goku’s grandpa. So this design can be well understood by the fans of “Dragon Ball”.
There are also flying stone carved on the base, it increases the details of the base, and enriches the overall effect.
What’s more interesting is that on the left and right sides of the base, an aura special effect parts have been added! It can be seen that the manufacturer is really striving for perfection in this statue.
The Deluxe Version comes with a total of four alternate portraits – Black Hair, Super Saiyan 1, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3.
For many “Dragon Ball” fans, the black hair Son Goku is definitely an essential classic look. You can see that Goku‘s expression is full of tension and very vivid.
Super Saiyan 2 Goku is a shouting expression, it seems to shout “KAAAAAMEEEEEHAAAAMEEEEEEHAAAAAAA!!!”
This expression is indeed more imposing than the previous two head sculpts.
The last one is Super Saiyan 3 Goku, which is also the strongest look of Son Goku in Dragon Ball Z. The serious expression is well depicted, and this head sculpt features the biggest highlight – hair. The huge golden hair is well carved, and there is a gradient shadow painting on it, so the layering and texture are also good.
To be honest, This Super Saiyan 2 Son Goku statue is my favourite one. I like Goku‘s shouting expression, which can let you resonate emotionally. It is easy for everyone to feel his next thought from his expression.
So which one do you like best? Please leave your comment below, LOL.
